Color analysis glossary

What is Sci\ART color analysis?

Sci\ART is a 12-season color analysis method developed by Kathryn Kalisz that types coloring by three dimensions — hue (warm/cool), value (light/deep), and chroma (soft/bright) — rather than by season names alone.

Sci\ART color analysis

Sci\ART reframed color analysis around measurable color science. Instead of asking 'what season are you,' it measures where your skin sits on hue, value, and chroma, then names the season that results. This dimensional approach is the basis for most modern 12-season systems.

The method uses physical drapes in controlled light to find the exact point where the face looks most even. Many AI color analysis tools approximate the same three dimensions from a photo.
